Ramato is, as Valter Scarbolo argues, “the opposite of Rosato” in that it is a red wine process using white grapes (Pinot Grigio). This creates a full-bodied, copper-coloured, perfumed, and intensely-delicate white wine. One of our most unique wines, this has quickly become a staff and customer favourite!
‘ILRamato’ is a fantastic example of the classic style of vinifying Pinot Grigio with prolonged skin-contact, an historic technique in the Friuli region. Notes of red apple and fresh citrus intermingle with an incredible saline minerality, all carried by the wine’s phenolic, textural finish.
